Wednesday 2nd October

Leaving Toronto behind, we head off today for Ottawa with an expected arrival time of about 4.5 hours. After a break along the way we arrived at 3.00 pm, dropped our gear at the apartment accommodation and headed into Downtown for a quick look around. We parked the car in the City Hall car park and started walking toward Downtown. With a map in hand we started navigating the streets in the vicinity of the Byward Market and found the above sign !

Ottawa, as everyone is fully aware is renown for its beaver tails, so we just had to try one out !

From just the small time we spent in town this afternoon, Ottawa has turned out to be a pleasant surprise with really interesting buildings, parks and canals set on the Ottawa River. Looking forward to spending tomorrow having a better look around.

As we travel further north, and summer is falling further behind us, the weather is getting cooler. Today we had to get out our down jackets, merino long sleeved tops and a scarf. On the plus side, today we also noticed the leaves are starting to change colour !
