Day 14 - Day excursion bike tour around Alesund
After a practice ride around the nearby carpark we set off on our ride just after 9.00. We cycled approximately 22 km in total, including riding around the island of Hessa, and ascending the Alska mountain which had a lookout over Alesund. At the end of the ride we had short time in the centre of Alesund town before returning the ship in preparation for our second behind the scenes tour. This time it took in the engine room and the captain’s bridge. No photos were allowed again but it was well worth doing and getting an idea of how the ship operates with power and energy and navigation.
We had an early dinner at 18:00, seated at a different table this time and Wilma still found me ! So she checked my choices of meal options and approved ! We had an early dinner sitting because we had booked to go to a show in the Delphi Theatre. Tonight's show was called “Jukebox” and consisted of 5 singers doing a range of songs, well produced and very energetic. We also booked for tomorrow night’s show the moment tickets came available on line while we were sitting in the theatre. The ship offers this process through their onboard app. The theatre is a 900 seat theatre and with 6,000 passengers on board, the 3 show time slots book out quickly so you have to get in early. Each show on offer throughout the ship is always 35 minutes long and tomorrow night’s show is Ed Sherran’s songs.
