We were planning on stopping at Kimba Roadhouse, but Liz W sent us a SMS on the way to say the at Kimba Showgrounds was the place to stay, with clean facilities and $2.00 for a hot shower. Cost - Donation !
That together with a curry from the Kimba Roadhouse made the stop all worthwhile.
After a quick visit to the Big Galah, we departed heading toward Ceduna, arriving at around 1345
Our site for the next 2 nights in Shelly Beach Caravan Park.
Checked out the visitor's centre, town centre, Denial Bay and Thevenard. All pretty disappointing and views across the bay were hampered by the drizzle.
Caravan park facilities were ok, but located a long way from our van which was uncomfortable and muddy getting to and fro. Inside, once the floors were wet, which was most of the time, they were very slippery. Decided we wouldn't cone back to this park again.
Arrived at Nullabor Roahouse after stopping off at the Head of Bight (no whales but fantastic views of the Bunda Cliffs). Parked next to another Sportliner Avan, had dinner at the bar and spent time with other travellers in the bar. Facilities at Nullabor Roadhouse were quite good, meal was great. Found out today our packs from Outback Spirit had arrived in Adelaide
Stopped off at another cliff viewing area, passed through Border Village, Eucla and Madura. Towns here have their own time zone, 45 mins on from SA time, and 45 mins back from WA time. We arrived at 15:30 local time and had dinner that night in the Roadhouse restaurant - once again a really tasty meal, enhanced with romantic lighting when the generator died halfway through the meal.
This ends the Nullabor crossing, tomorrow we turn south.
