We had an included breakfast with our accommodation this morning being a voucher to redeem a coffee and a sweet croissant at a nearby cafe. The rest of the day was basically a transit day, with a 2.5 hour drive to the port, 40 minute ferry trip and a 20 minute drive to our accommodation.
We had booked a ferry for 12:00 noon leaving from Villa San Giovanni port, approximately a 2.5 hour drive. Arrived and somehow lucked our way into the correct line for the correct ferry, but just as we hit the front of the queue, the ferry was full and we had to wait for the next one. No problem as the next one was in fact the 12:00 noon ferry we had booked and planned on getting anyway.
The drive today was again through mountainous terrain (literally?) we passed through another 41 tunnels today, with the longest 2.655 km long).
Had a quick look along the coast, and checked out central Messina.

Well. Messina looks bustling with activity – NOT.
Only four people visible in the photos.
